Throughout the day of the festival, there will be an industry expo held in the David Lean Room. With a host of exhibitors from different organisations, you’ll have the chance to ask those all important questions to help you get ahead in your film making career.     After years of making his own films in Dundee, Paul moved to London in 2013 and got a job running at a Spark Media Partners, a TV development company. He has since worked his way up to Assistant Producer and has worked on shows for C4 and Watch, including ‘Battlechefs’ and ‘Escape To The Chateau’. In 2016 he also shot on ‘Iron Men’, an obs doc film about West Ham United moving to the Olympic Stadium. Paul’s preferred cameras are Sony FS7 and Canon C300. The talk will cover:

    Paul McCallum has worked his way up the ranks in factual TV from runner to researcher, then Assistant Producer and DV Director. He's worked on popular shows including Escape to the Chateau and The Wonderful World of Crafting. If you're interested in becoming a self shooter in factual TV, this is the workshop for you. With a practical, hands on focus on the type of cameras and equipment used for these roles, Paul will explain how to get into and move on up in the world of factual telly.
